Transaction Definition
An electronic transaction is a record submitted by the donor through the CyberGrants system. A payroll contribution may be given to any number of organizations and is only counted as one transaction. A paper, or phone based, transaction is one where CyberGrants has entered the necessary gift information on behalf of the donor. It is the intent of CyberGrants to help the donor, whenever possible, to complete the task on their own but certain situations require CyberGrants to complete the record on their behalf.
Billable Transactions:
- Dollars for Doers (hour’s volunteer leading to a financial contribution)
- Matching Gifts (donation made outside the system but the match being processed through CyberGrants)
- Payroll Donations (one transaction for any number of organizations designated through payroll)
- Disaster Relief (specific contribution campaign in support of disaster relief efforts)
- Credit Card (cash donations either matched or not matched through credit card tools in CyberGrants)
Non-Billable Transactions:
- Event Creation (the opening of an event for the purpose of recruiting volunteers)
- Event Signup (the registration of an employee to an event) - Unless Volunteerism Transactions is in contract (not PeePy or PuPPY)
- Hours Volunteered (hours logged in the system that do not result in any financial transaction)
The program names listed above are sample industry terms and may not reflect the exact name of the clients program. In general transactions that result in a financial contribution are considered to be a transaction whereas pure volunteerism is not.
