Stale and Reissued Checks

Checks become stale after 180 days if an organization has not cashed the check

• Reissue Validation Points - if all of these points have been met, we will reissue the check to the organization again
  • • Organization is still in good standing with IRS/NCES/CRA
    • Organization is Approved for the proposal type (EE only)
    • Check has been mailed once previously
      • If an organization has not cashed the check after two attempts, the organization is rejected and redirection will be initiated automatically

      Note: Nonprofit Hub Organizations will have three (one initial issued and two reissued) attempts before before an organization is rejected and the payment will be redirected.

• Organization Tax Status and Overall Organization Status
  • • If an organization is non-verifiable or no longer in approved status, the organization will be manually reviewed by org vetting
      • If the team is able to validate the organization, the payment will get processed as a reissue in the next monthly disbursement cycle
      • If the team is unable to validate the organization, the organization will be rejected and redirection will be initiated automatically
        • Organization is closed
        • Organization is revoked
        • Organization fell off the registered list
