Understanding the CyberGrants Fundraising Extension
The CyberGrants Fundraising Extension is a standardized, configurable add-on for Bonterra's CyberGrants platform that enables employees to engage with and support fundraising events directly within the giving interface. This extension simplifies the process of discovering fundraisers, submitting donations, and tracking fundraising progress—all within the same portal used for employee giving.
Designed to enhance engagement and transparency, the Fundraising Extension allows administrators to promote their program’s employee-led fundraisers while providing donors with an intuitive experience for contributing and monitoring event outcomes. By using this extension, program administrators can increase participation in fundraising campaigns and create a more unified philanthropic environment across their workforce.

Key Features:
- Fundraiser Search Portlet - Allows employees to browse active fundraising events using filters such as keyword, fundraiser event type, date range, and organization location. Each listing displays essential information and includes a “Read More & Donate” button to begin the donation process.
- Donation Submission Workflow - Upon selecting a fundraising event, donors are directed to a detailed event page where they choose a donation method (e.g., credit card or offline donation) and complete a donation form
- Fundraiser Progress Portlet - Shows total funds raised and the goal amount for a given fundraiser, offering real-time visibility into the success of active campaigns.
- Standardized Configuration - Built using CyberGrants' vetted methodology to ensure consistency, scalability, and compatibility with existing system functionality.
- Annual Maintenance Package - Includes one configuration update per calendar year (within scope), allowing your program to evolve the fundraiser experience over time.
Limitations and Considerations:
- No Payroll Donations - Payroll deduction is not permitted for use with fundraising events configured through this extension.
- Change Restrictions - Administrators are limited to one configuration change per calendar year, and only changes that stay within the original scope of the extension are supported under maintenance.
- Strict Methodology Required - The extension must be implemented following Bonterra’s standardized approach. Deviating from the methodology may result in unexpected system behavior, data issues, or increased implementation costs.
- UAT Required Before Deployment - A full User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phase is required before the extension can be deployed to the production environment. No functionality will be moved into production without formal approval.
