What is the Fundraising Extension?

The Fundraising Extension is a pre-built, templated enhancement for the CyberGrants platform that allows organizations to support employee-led fundraising initiatives.

This extension creates a user-friendly way for employees to discover and contribute to fundraising events and provides real-time visibility into event performance via integrated portlets. 

Core Functionality 

The Fundraising Extension introduces two core components: 

Fundraiser Search Portlet 

A donor-facing interface that enables users to browse active fundraising events and initiate donations. The portlet provides: 

• Search and filter options for:
  • Keyword
  • Start and End Date
  • Fundraiser Event Type
  • State and Zip Code
• Display elements for each event, including:
  • Fundraiser Title and Organization
  • Date and Time
  • Location (Address)
  • Type of Event
  • Participate ("Read More & Donate”) 

Fundraiser Progress Portlet 

A widget that shows the total amount raised and the fundraising goal for a selected event, helping users and administrators track campaign momentum. 

Donation Workflow 

When users click "Read More & Donate" on a selected event, they are directed to a detailed donation page that includes: 

• Descriptive content about the fundraiser
• Available donation methods such as Credit Card or Offline Donation 

Donation method buttons direct donors to forms that collect the gift details, required certifications, and any necessary custom fields. 

Once the user submits their donation, the event's fundraising total is updated accordingly in the Progress Portlet. 

Technical and Operational Considerations 

• Payroll programs are not eligible for use with this extension.
• The Fundraising Extension is implemented using a standardized methodology, ensuring quality and scalability while minimizing custom coding.
• One annual configuration update is allowed as part of the included maintenance package.
• Functional changes after UAT approval may incur additional costs and affect timelines. 

Assumptions and Dependencies 

• Full User Acceptance Testing (UAT) is required prior to go-live.
• No production changes will be made without formal client approval.
• Functionality cannot be modified after deployment without potential cost or timeline implications.
