The Life Sciences Functionality Extension enhances Bonterra’s CyberGrants grantmaking platform to meet the unique needs of healthcare professionals (HCPs), pharmaceutical companies, and patient assistance programs.
This extension provides a standardized, configurable framework for managing requests, registration workflows, and payment tracking associated with life sciences programs, ensuring compliance, improving efficiency, and offering a seamless experience for applicants and administrators.
Designed to streamline operations while maintaining the integrity of patient data and funding flows, this extension supports specialized functions such as resupply workflows, customized HCP registration, and payment sub-status tracking. It integrates cleanly with the CyberGrants platform, reducing the need for customizations and enabling rapid deployment through predefined, Bonterra-vetted methodologies.

Key features:
The Custom Resupply Request portletdisplays both initial and resupply requests in a user-friendly layout, with relevant data columns such as Request ID, Drug, Patient Gender, Date of Birth, and more.
The Resupply functionality automatically generates new resupply forms based on pre-set criteria, stamping, and locking key fields from the initial request to maintain data integrity.
The Healthcare provider registration page tailors the user registration experience for physicians and HCPs by replacing standard organization terminology with provider-specific language.
Payment sub-status tracking enables real-time updates to the payment sub-status field based on defined criteria (e.g., marking a payment as “Paid”).
A comprehensive User Acceptance Testing(UAT) phase is enforced, ensuring program administrators fully review and approve the solution before it goes live.
Limitations and considerations:
All functionality must be implemented using Bonterra’s prescribed methodology. Deviations may result in errors, an inability to adopt new features, or data loss.
Only one change to the extension is permitted per calendar year and must fall within the original scope.
Modifications to requirements after development begins may lead to project delays and additional costs.
Updates to the functionality after implementation, especially those requiring logic changes, may also incur added costs.
Full UAT sign-off is required before any functionality is promoted to production.
