This feature standardizes the following time format options, allowing your employees (donors) to choose a preferred format for their Employee Engagement experience. Donors can choose from the following formats:
- 12-hour (example: 1:30 PM)
- 24-hour (example: 13:30)
- 24-hour alternate (example: 13h30)
The standard feature replaces support for client-customized time format display and language-based time format display. Grantmaker configuration defaults to 15-minute increments and a 12-hour format. If the Preferred Time Format field is blank for an employee, the employee will inherit the Grantmaker default setting until another field value is selected by an admin or by the donor.

Donors can, also, update and save their preferred time format through their access to their Donor Profile on the donor portal, in their System Settings. They can change and save their preferred time format.

Translations on a 12-hour clock are available for the following languages:

- ja '午前8:30'

- uk '08:30 дп'
- vi '08:30 SA'

Translations on a 24-hour clock are available for da '08.30'

Time will be presented in the donor’s preferred format on Employee Engagement and in any email merge fields where the format applies.

NOTE: The donor-preferred time format configured cannot be used in customized portlets. Please work with your Program Manager if your program includes customizations that prevent you from taking advantage of this standard utility.
