The system log is an audit trail of standard CyberGrants fields. An Administrator can view changes (Record Created, Record Deleted, Record Updated) to various records (budget, organization, payment, request, employee giving, payroll/recurring donation, and volunteer events) and events (E-mail and Letter) associated with a record.
To access the system audit trail, an administrator can navigate to the "System Log" link under the Admin tab. This provides access to the comprehensive audit log, which tracks all activity and actions taken within the system.
- Once in the System Log, administrators can utilize various filters to search and refine the activity displayed.
- These filters allow you to search by timeframe, action type, the user who performed the action, and the specific table or area of the system (such as grantseeker, budget, or payment requests). By adjusting these filter criteria, you can hone in on the particular activity you need to review.
- Administrators can access the audit log for individual organizations or request records, in addition to the comprehensive system-wide audit log, allowing them to track activity and actions taken on specific records.
The search results will display detailed information about each logged action, including the table, record ID, type of action (insert, update, delete, letter, or email), the time of the transaction, the user who initiated it, and a description of the action taken. If the action involved an email or letter, there will also be a link to view the full contents. This comprehensive audit trail provides administrators with full visibility and transparency into the system's usage and history.
Please see the below key points to keep in mind when viewing an audit trail.
For Volunteer Events:
- The number of volunteers is not audited (ie this doesn't track over-time signups).
- Skills & interests are not audited.
- Shift addition/removal isn't tracked.
For EG deduction summary:
- Only the summary level is tracked, for payroll the detail level is not.
