Understanding the CyberGrants Match Function Extension
The Match Function Extension is a standardized add-on available through Bonterra’s CyberGrants platform. It enhances employee giving programs by automatically determining donor eligibility and calculating matching gift amounts based on predefined program rules. By automating this process, the extension helps reduce manual work and ensures consistent application of matching criteria across programs.
This extension supports customers who offer employee match programs and want to apply matching funds. It reviews employee gift activity, calculates matchable amounts, and generates match records only when a match is valid and within balance. This ensures that matches are awarded accurately and in alignment with fiscal year tracking rules.

Key features:
- The system validates whether an employee donation is eligible for a corporate match.
- It automatically calculates match amounts based on program-defined limits and ratios.
- The system reviews existing match records across all proposal types within the same fiscal year.

Considerations and constraints:
- All proposal types included in the match must share the same fiscal year configuration.
- Currency conversion is static; this may result in small rounding differences.
- Match amounts for payroll contributions are evenly divided across selected organizations. There is no option to assign custom percentages or amounts.
- Once deployed to production, changes to the logic or business rules may result in added costs and longer timelines.
- Customers can make one change to the extension per calendar year, within the original scope of the purchase.
- Full User Acceptance Testing (UAT) is required before the extension is released to production.
