What is the CGDS Configuration (non-SDK) Extension?

The CGDS Configuration non-SDK (Software Development Kit) Extension is a pre-configured solution that supports the successful implementation and ongoing optimization of Bonterra’s CyberGrants Disbursement Solution (CGDS). 

NOTE: It is designed specifically for existing customers who are transitioning from legacy disbursement methods to CGDS, enabling efficient and centralized processing of charitable disbursements. 

Core functionality 

The primary purpose of this extension is to ensure a smooth migration to CGDS by modifying system settings, updating data feeds, and enabling disbursement functionality across specified proposal types.  

With this Extension in place, disbursement responsibilities can be shifted to Bonterra, streamlining internal processes and ensuring compliance with CGDS protocols. 

Features and components 

• Portal and field configuration - Adjusts system portals, user-facing interfaces, and field-level settings to align with CGDS processes.
• Watchlist optimization - Streamlines and configures watchlist behavior to comply with CGDS protocols.
• Integration adjustments - Updates core integrations, including:
  • AP Feeds
  • ACH Feeds
  • Positive Pay
• Proposal type alignment - Aligns specified proposal types with CGDS to ensure that they are excluded from legacy disbursement methods.
• Annual maintenance - Allows for one change per year within the scope of the extension, such as onboarding a new program or adjusting an existing setup. 

Configuration workflow 

1. A customer decides to transition all employee giving programs to CGDS.
2. The Implementation team, along with the Disbursements Team, applies portal and field configuration updates.
3. AP, ACH, and Positive Pay Feeds are updated to exclude these proposal types.
4. The CGDS payment system takes over disbursements, managing gift grouping, charity payments, and invoicing.
5. In future years, if the customer adds another employee program or wants to adjust the setup, they can use the one included annual change to configure it for CGDS. 

Technical specifications 

• This extension is applicable only to environments that do not utilize the Software Development Kit (SDK) version of CyberGrants.
• The included maintenance allows for one proposal configuration request per calendar year, as long as the request remains within the scope of the extension.
• The extension is compatible with other standard extensions as long as there are no overlapping disbursement functionalities that could interfere with CGDS processing.
