Establishing a seamless data-sharing experience between CyberGrants and your organization is a crucial step in leveraging the power of Snowflake for Insights. The onboarding process involves a collaborative effort to gather the necessary information, provision the required resources, and ensure a successful connection.
Proceed as follows to initiate the Insights Snowflake data-sharing setup.
Step 1: Provide Snowflake Instance Details
Engage with the CyberGrants team for a short session to share information about your Snowflake instance, including the Cloud Provider, Snowflake Region, and Snowflake Instance Locator/Name. See Supported Cloud Regions and Locating Account Identifiers for more information.
- Organization Name - Provide the name of the Snowflake organization.
- Account Name - Indicate the unique name of the account within the organization.
- Locator ID - Provide the unique Snowflake instance locator (alphanumeric ID) to identify your organization's Snowflake environment.
- Cloud Provider - Cloud provider must be AWS for your Snowflake instance.
- Region - Snowflake region must be located in AWS East-1 (us-east-1) region.
Step 2: Provision Shared Database and Secure Views
The CyberGrants team will work with you to provision the necessary database, schema, and secure views to be shared.
- The CyberGrants team will create the required database and schema structures within your Snowflake instance.
- Secure views will be set up to ensure the appropriate data access and sharing permissions.
Step 3: Understand the Creation and Testing of the Snowflake Data Share
The CyberGrants team will create the Snowflake data share and thoroughly test the setup internally before making it visible to you.
- The Snowflake data share will be configured to enable secure and controlled access to the shared data.
- Comprehensive internal testing will be conducted to verify the integrity and functionality of the data-sharing setup.
Step 4: Understand Connection Notification and Assistance
Once the data-sharing setup is complete, the CyberGrants team will make the Snowflake data share visible to you and provide guidance to help you test the connection and start utilizing the shared data.
