The Leaderboard Portlet Extension is a pre-designed enhancement to the CyberGrants platform that visually highlights top-performing individuals or teams in your organization’s giving and volunteering programs. It is a powerful tool to recognize contributions, increase visibility into program impact, and encourage greater participation through healthy competition.
Core functionality
Once enabled, the leaderboard appears on donor-facing pages and is automatically populated with ranking data. Depending on how you configure it, the leaderboard can track either total dollars donated, or total hours volunteered.
You can also decide whether to display results by individual or team, giving you the flexibility to highlight employee contributions in a way that aligns with your company culture and goals.
Display and layout
- Orientation - Choose from vertical or horizontal layout styles. The layout can be changed with the standard configuration.
- Top 3 spotlight - The highest-ranked three contributors are highlighted prominently.
- Rankings - A table displays the donor’s own individual or team rank and those ranked immediately above and below. These rankings are updated daily through an automated overnight process.
Team leaderboard specifics
- Team association is pulled from your Human Resources (HR) feed. Click here to learn about the HR Feed Extension.
- Progress is measured as a percentage toward an annual team goal, which is configured in the CyberGrants admin interface.
- Team leaderboards are displayed only if activity is logged in the current fiscal year.
Individual leaderboard specifics
- Individual leaderboards can use fiscal year or a custom date range (within the past three years).
- They only include contributions that are approved and not rejected or canceled.
Technical details
- Proposal types determine which programs count toward totals. You’ll define whether all gifts and hours apply, or only those from specific programs.
- Visibility rules ensure the leaderboard only appears if qualifying contributions exist in the configured timeframe.
This extension provides a structured and visually compelling way to motivate participation and recognize impact, while aligning with the data already flowing through your CyberGrants platform.
