Adding Organizations

How can I add an organization to CAF America's Global Charity Database?

When an international organization does not appear in the donor portal, donors can use the International Invitations workflow to invite the organization to begin CAF America’s eligibility process. International Credit Card Giving and Matching does not allow employee donors to redirect to organizations that are not included in CAF America’s Global Charity Database.

  • CAF America is constantly refining and adding to its list of more than 300,000 international charitable organizations in over 100 countries. This means employees will have plenty of options to give to organizations worldwide, and the list of eligible organizations will continue to expand over time.
  • Invited organizations must complete CAF America’s registration, documentation requirements, and vetting before they will be added to the Global Charity Database and become eligible for donation and matching.

Payment Status

How do I know if the organization received the donation if it went through the expedited grantmaking program?

CAF America will provide Bonterra with two updates if a grant is processed through the Expedite Grantmaking program.

  • The first update will indicate when the grant is sent to the in-country partner.
  • The second update will indicate when the grant is sent to the designated recipient organization.

Payment Currency

Do charities receive grants in their local currency?

CAF America will disburse grants in an organization’s preferred currency.

  • Oftentimes, this is the local currency, but occasionally an organization prefers to receive USD.
  • Grants disbursed through the Expedite Grantmaking program will only be disbursed in local currency.

Payout Timing

How long does it take to process grants through CAF America?

Before any grants are disbursed, the CyberGrants invoice must be fully funded. Once this has been fully funded, the grant will be disbursed within 21 calendar days for directly eligible organizations.

  • If the grant is being processed through the Expedite Grantmaking program, it will take an additional 30 calendar days (on average) and a maximum of 60 calendar days for the grant to reach the designated recipient organization.
  • If the Expedite partner cannot engage with the charity within 60 calendar days to disburse the funds, the grant will enter the redirection process.

Clients with custom CAF America migrations will require a de-customization assessment to adopt this feature.  Please contact your Client Manager for support with any questions.
