Charities Aid Foundation America (CAF America) works with philanthropists looking to support charitable organizations around the world by providing the infrastructure necessary for high-quality, regulatory-compliant grantmaking and maintaining a worldwide network of fully vetted charity partners.
CAF America Vetting Process
CAF America makes grants to charitable organizations pursuant to an in-house expenditure responsibility review process. Foreign charitable organizations not registered with CAF America must first complete a Grant Eligibility Application (GEA). Once CAF America receives a completed, signed GEA and all required supporting documentation, a three-tiered review process is initiated. Then, once the charitable organization becomes eligible with CAF America, it is added to the CAF America Global Charity Database.
If a donor searches for an international organization that does not appear in the CyberGrants portal, the donor can use the International Invitations workflow to invite the organization to begin CAF America’s eligibility process. The invited organization must complete the same GEA, provide all required documentation, and pass CAF America’s review before it will be added to the Global Charity Database and become eligible for donation and matching.
CAF America is constantly refining and adding to its list of approximately 200,000 international charitable organizations in over 100 countries (not including Canada and the U.S.). This means employees will have plenty of options to give to organizations worldwide, and the list of eligible organizations will continue to expand over time.
