International Credit Card Giving and Matching Overview
The CyberGrants portal offers International Credit Card Giving and Matching, where employees (donors) can search the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) America's global database of over 200,000 non-profit organizations in more than 100 countries and contribute via credit card with a company match. Payments processed using this feature are managed through CyberGrants Disbursement Solutions (CGDS) in partnership with CAF America.
- To leverage this feature, your program must include an active Credit Card proposal type, CyberGrants Disbursement Solutions configuration, USD-based currency, and GGPay (Google Pay and Apple Pay) configuration.
- The application supports both cross-border and international domestic credit card giving through a single credit card proposal type.
- Administrators can narrow down organization eligibility by country or expand the search to include all locations.
CAF America, a partner organization, provides the infrastructure necessary for high-quality, regulatory-compliant grantmaking and maintains a worldwide network of fully vetted charity partners.
- Foreign charitable organizations not registered with CAF America must first complete a Grant Eligibility Application, and once approved, they are added to the CAF America Global Charity Database.
- When donors encounter international organizations that do not appear in search results, they can use the International Invitations workflow to invite the organization to apply for CAF America eligibility. Once invited, the organization follows CAF America’s registration and vetting process; only after approval will the organization appear in search results and become eligible for donation and matching.
Credit card donations and match payments are processed through CGDS to International organizations in partnership with CAF America, with some organizations receiving direct payments and others being paid through CAF America's affiliate partners.
- Administrators can choose to cover the credit card merchant fee and the International CGDS fee, and donations may be affected by international exchange rates.
