Bonterra CyberGrants provides flexible options for viewing, customizing, and printing budget data. Administrators can review column values to track budget status, adjust which columns display in the Budget tab, and generate printable reports for analysis.
Enter the Budget tab and follow the steps below to learn about managing budget columns.
Step 1: Understand budget line columns
The budget table includes several columns that display financial activity and allocations for each budget line.
- Current Budget – The amount currently allocated to a budget line.
- Balance – The remaining amount after deductions from committed and paid activity.
- Allocated – The total amount of money distributed from a parent budget to its child budgets.
- Note: The lowest-level child budgets always display an allocated amount of zero.
- Unallocated – The remaining amount still available to assign to child budgets.
- Note: Parent line items cannot be used for payments until their dollars are fully allocated to child budgets.
- Lowest-level child budgets display an unallocated amount equal to the money currently assigned to that budget line.
- Committed – The amount reserved by all non-voided payments for pending or approved grants.
- If a payment is voided or a grant is rejected/canceled, the amount is returned, and the committed balance decreases.
- Paid – The amount spent through payments on approved grants.
- If a payment is voided or a grant is rejected/canceled, the amount is returned, and the paid balance decreases.
- The leftmost budget line represents the parent budget line.
- Indented lines represent parent/child budget relationships.
- Budget names are clickable links that open an edit box at the bottom of the screen to update budget information.
