Dollars for Doers allows you to use multiple existing or new Log Hours proposal types. Each log hours proposal type related to the Dollars for Doers program will have its volunteer hours count towards an employee's eligibility for a volunteer match.
View Create an Employee Giving Proposal or Update an Existing Proposal Type for step-by-step instructions to configure a Log Hours proposal type for your Dollars for Doers program. If you are creating a new proposal type, be sure to choose an existing Log Hours proposal type.
Note: You will need to ensure that the following settings are configured correctly.
When following the step-by-step instructions, configure the following options for your Log Hours proposal type:
In the Proposal Types column, click the hyperlink for an existing log hours proposal type .

When following the step-by-step instructions, configure the following options for the Gift Eligibility Ranges for the Log Hours proposal type:
Verify the Gift Eligibility Date Ranges are correct for your program. This is used to calculate the current year.
In the Creation Date Range column, enter a start date to determine the date eligible employees can begin logging hours.
In the Creation Date Range column, enter an end date to determine the date the program closes and employees can no longer log hours.
In the Gift Date Range column, enter a start and end date. The Gift Date Range indicates the valid volunteer date ranges for the log hours proposal type.
In the Applications Accepted? column, select the appropriate option from the dropdown menu.
For Log Hours proposal types, gift rules control what log hours transactions can be submitted in the donor portal by an employee when logging their volunteer hours.
Note: You will need to ensure that you select the Log Hours proposal type before navigating to the proposal’s Gift Rules.
Part Two: Configure a Dollars for Doers Proposal Type
All Dollars for Doers programs must use the Dollars for Doers proposal type to allow employees to apply for volunteer matches when they have logged the minimum number of hours to be eligible. To properly work with our enhanced Dollars for Doers, the proposal type must be linked to at least one log hours proposal type.
Note: You will need to ensure that the following settings are configured accordingly.
When following the step-by-step instructions, configure the following settings for your Dollars for Doers program options:
In the Nature of Program dropdown menu, select Individual Dollar/Hour Contributions, Journaling, Event Sign-Up.
In the Transaction Unit dropdown menu, select Hour.
In the Match Configuration dropdown menu, select Match Based on Hours Volunteered.
Note: Other selections will not affect functionality.
Select the Does This Program include a Donor Module Component? checkbox.
Note: This box allows the proposal type to accept applications in the donor portal. This will be changed to a Yes or No field soon.
In the Parent Program Name select menu, choose the appropriate Log Hours proposal type(s). The Log Hours proposal type selected will be used to record volunteer hours eligible for grant applications. (see Figure 1.)
Note: If you do not see the Parent Program Name select menu, then you will need to click the Save button and refresh your browser. The Parent Program Name select menu will only appear if the Transaction Unit is set to Hours.

In the Dollars for Doers Configuration Options dropdown menu, select the option that reflects how volunteer hours will be evaluated and how employees will select organizations for grants. (see Figure 2.)

Note: The DollarsforDoers Configuration Options dropdown menu will only display if the proposal type's Match Configuration is set to Match Based on Hours Volunteered and a Parent Program Name is selected. View the table below for a description of each available option.

Step Three: Configure Gift Eligibility Date Ranges
Note: You will need to ensure that the following settings are configured accordingly.
When following the step-by-step instructions, configure the following fields accordingly:

Note: Gift Eligibility Date Ranges are required for proposal types to function properly and should include both Creation date and Gift date ranges.
Note: For Dollars for Doers programs, the organization search configuration affects which organizations will appear in the Organization Search panel when redeeming a volunteer match (see Figure 4.)

Configuring Search Result Visibility Settings
For Dollars for Doers programs, the visibility settings affect the display of organizations available for selection on the Dollars for Doers when redeeming a volunteer match and the experience when using the Organization Search functionality. View the table below for examples of visibility settings.

Step Five: Configure Donor Rules
View Create or Edit Donor Rules for step-by-step instructions to configure Donor Rules for your program.
When following the step-by-step instructions, configure the following settings for your Dollars for Doers Donor Rules:
In the Proposal Types section, click View Proposal Types.
Click on the Dollars for Doers proposal type (naming is specific to each client but may be named Volunteer Grant.)
Complete Donor Rule Name, Active, Eligible, Non-Rejected Match Amount, Non-Rejected Transactions, Transactions, Scope, Total Match Limit, Total Transaction Limit.
Ensure:
Rules have an eligible rule and a corresponding ineligible rule.
Organization Unmatched Hours directly relate to the gift rules for the lower and upper gift limits.
Total Match Limits are configured for Donor or Gift rules need to be on both.
Note: Donor Rules may already be configured; however, you must verify that they are correct.
Part Three: Configure Approval Workflows and Types
All Dollars for Doers proposal types must have approval workflows and types configured. Workflow settings may vary and depend on your company's business processes.
Note: Advanced configuration options for the Dollars for Doers portlet allowing you to control portlet visibility by these donor's attributes:
Company ID
Donor Country
Donor State
Employee Type
User Role
Configure the portlet as determined by your business process. The following section provides visual representations of the areas affected by available configuration settings. Each setting has been assigned a number that correlates with the image.
Note: You will need to ensure that the following settings are configured accordingly.
When following the step-by-step instructions, configure the following settings for your Dollars for Doers program:
In the Donor Portal section, click View/Edit Portlets
Note: Be sure that you select an existing Dollars for Doers portlet.
In the Matching Grant Proposal Type field, select the correct Dollars for Doers proposal type for your program.
